The Foundation Of Vidme
Vidme was co-founded by Alex Benzer (Co-founder at Vidme, ex @ SocialEngine CEO, @ Techstars alum) and Warren Shaeffer (Co-founder at Bit Kitchen (Vidme); ex @ SocialEngine, @ MuckerLab, @ Golden Gate Capital, @ JPMorgan, @ Harvard University, Co-creator of thankaday.com) in East LA in 2014 and was initially called Viddme because they could not afford the Vidme domain. They grew up in Southern California, and worked together at SocialEngine, a software company that Alex started while in college.
They started Vidme because they were fascinated by the digital video world, both from a creative and business perspective but they probably don't have the artistic talent to make it on their own as creators. Also, as entrepreneurs, they felt that there had to be a better way than a crappy pre-roll video ads remnants of traditional television programming for people to make money from digital content.
They are now joined by 8 other talented humans and 6 office dogs, and are hellbent on building a more creator-friendly video community. Please reach out if you're interested in joining the Vidme Team and think you'd be a good fit.
