As a discussion boards member you have your own profile page where you can:
- Manage your avatar and bio
- Add social media links
- View your global board activity
- Have access to your Settings (e.g. where notifications are managed)
To access the profile page, log in and click your user avatar/username in the far-right of the banner.
A dropdown menu will show you links for Profile and Settings, and you can log out of the boards from here too. (Admins will also see a link for Administration.)
Manage your avatar and bio
In relation to your account username, which is dependent on how you signed up, you’re profile is where you can polish your identity with a short bio and avatar.
To add a short bio, click in the text area at right of the avatar and start typing. The bio text saves automatically.
Your avatar will be the first letter of your username by default. You can keep the default letter or add your own image. To change your avatar, click on the image and use the resulting upload controls.
Attention: Make sure the avatar is acceptable by the Helping Keeping The Vidme Club Clean Guide. We will suspend accounts with non-abiding avatars.
Age and Gender:
To add a age and gender on your profile, go to the settings. And click on the Age and Gender button.
Currently the Reputation is given for a new post (1pts) and given for a new discussion (2pts), more way to earn will come soon.
Add social media links
At right of your “Joined” date, just under your bio, is a place to add links to your other social media accounts/profiles. Look for the ＋ icon. Click the icon to open the modal for social links management.
You’ll see three controls:
- a drop-down menu for picking an icon
If you only add the Title and URL, the icon will pull automatically from the source URL’s favicon (recommended). Or you may use the icon picker to select a different icon for the source. You can add one link at a time or several at once before saving and closing the modal.
Once you’ve saved one or more links, they’ll appear as indicated in the image above. Click the gear icon to edit them again anytime you want.
View global boards activity
The lower part of your profile page provides a way to view your activity in the boards. You can view your:
- Posts (replies you’ve made in conversations)
- Discussions (conversations you started)
- Mentions (instances when another member uses your name in a post)
Posts are shown by default. Each item will show a number representing the count you have for that item (no number means you have none).
Note you can also access your Settings from this list.
